ProductionThis area becomes one of the
major areas of concern when buying Indonesian furniture. Even
though wood may seem to be dry if the product is not manufactured
properly using the correct methods for construction and proper
glues and hardware you will still come across the problem
of warping, splitting and cracking. This is why we use age
old proven methods of floating systems of construction so
that areas prone to movement are not affixed using glue and
nails. Instead we use a system which still allows some upward,
downward and sideward movement. This allows for changes in
climatic temperature and humidity not to damage your furniture.
Because wood is a living organism it is almost impossible
to say that there won't be some degree of movement over years
of use but it is minimized by proper construction methods.
FinishingThis is also an important
step in the final process of your order. This area can make
or break a well constructed piece of furniture. We use a 10
step process which allows your furniture to show off its'
natural patina by using a nitro cellulose open pore system.
Water walls in our spray booths help decrease pollution and
also give a clean finish on your furniture. All items are
polished using steel wool to buff your furniture to a soft
patina.
PackingPacking is the final stage
of the process and also as important as all the other processes.
A poorly packed piece of furniture and especially a poorly
packed container will lead to damaged articles. We use both
cardboard corners for extra protection and also a combination
of Styrofoam, Foam Wrapping, Waxed Paper and Corrugated Cardboard
Wrapping. This is all secured with heavy duty plastic raffia.
Our packing team has packed hundreds of containers and knows
the best way to maximize your space in the container at the
same time making sure your goods travel safely and securely.
