WoodsWe specialize in mainly teak,
mahogany and mindi woods. Teak being a hardwood is suitable
for both indoors and outdoors use. Mahogany being a softer
wood which lends itself to incorporated carvings and other
finer detail by our skilled craftsmen. Mindi a semi-hardwood
with the characteristics of teak wood once stained. We also
use fruit woods such as mango and durian for their interesting
grains. Other woods can be sourced due to availability if
you have special application in mind. Wood is selected according
to the order being completed and quality negotiated thus being
guided by export price of the items being produced. Then after
milling it is either kiln dried or alternately through using
a combination of boiling and sun drying. This again is dependant
on the export price of the items being produced. All wood
which is kiln dried is accepted for the manufacturing process
to begin at a maximum 8% moisture content. Wood because it
is a living organism will reabsorb moisture during the manufacturing
process. Wood which is boiled and sun dried is as a backup
measure put into a dehumidifying chamber after the manufacturing
process and if any movement occurs is serviced accordingly
before the finishing process begins. This ensures that either
kiln dried or sun dried products will be below 12% moisture
content upon loading into the container for export.
TreatmentAll our wood is treated
before production and before finishing as an extra protection
to prevent any bugs getting into and eating the wood. All
containers are also fumigated to AQIS standard of Australia so
all furniture we ship is free from bugs.
This is our guarantee of quality.
